Worst. Blogger. Ever.

I would love to tell you that I am the worst blogger ever because I have been so busy doing such fabulous things that I just didn't have time to blog about it.  Truth is, I haven't been all that busy (except work has been busy) I just haven't been inspired or haven't been able to get the words out.  There are many reasons for not being able to get the words out, but that's for another post - this post is more for catch up.

First - I have to tell you the deck gardening this year has been fabulous!  Between Gav and I, we had scores of plants including 3 different kinds of hops, a gorgeous rosebush, purple poppies, amazing sweet peas (that he started from seed!), geraniums and a host of other plants including a Cavandish Banana, a cardamom plant and an abyssinian.  Just gorgeous!

I did a lot with solar decorative lighting, too, which looked really cute.  We also had hugh plastic urns we put under the deck with plants in them (to keep the day care kids from climbing under our deck) and they looking kinda cool, too.

Last year before Gav's accident, we were going to put up a green house at the farm.  This year after getting all the supplies, we decided not to go forward with that project (anyone want to buy a greenhouse?) and have come up with ways to bring in the tropical plants to winter indoors that won't take up too much room.

As you can see - we did have the deck pond again this year - I had to get a new pond kit since the container I used last year froze and got a hole in it. This beauty came from amazon and included the fountain pump that lights up at night! We also got goldfish for it and they thrived nicely (until one jumped out and died). Because it does get very cold here, we have an acquarium in our kitchen and have brough in Manny & Moe for the winter. I had several different kinds of plants in the pond and they all did fantastic and the two water lilies each had 1 bloom!

In other news, work has been very busy, but no travel anywhere, not even to corporate headquarters (except in May). Gav and I are kinda getting sick of all the 24/7 one-on-one time - honestly, there is no mystry left in our relationship! But that is one of the downsides to two people both working from or being at home all the time.  We had gone through this before in 2001 - it is only easier this time because 1) we are older and more tolerant and 2) are apartment is 3 times the size of the old one.

We have had some fun company - visits from the Feb/March birthday gang, and we attended our first same sex wedding this year that was just beautiful! We've played lots of Cards Against Humanity. I did go to a pig roast in Mount Union with a friend and after having some darn fine pork, won $100!  I used the winnings to take Gav and my folks out for a steak dinner! Nothing exciting but sometimes, nothing exciting is better, you know?

I agree with you. You are not a reliable blogger.
