It's a great theory but not always easily put into practice. I can't answer for other artists, but I need to be inspired in order to create. Where I am at the moment, I have no inspiration - or at least, no inspiration that will provide a positive result.
It is incredibly frustrating because I have PILES of projects to play with - I have labeled bags filled with fabric, threads and notions just waiting for me to 'feel' it and get to work. I makes me sad to be uninspired, because when you have that feeling or inspiration, it not only sparks your creativity, but it ripples out to other areas of your life in all sorts of positive ways. Its like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! Which explains the title of my post... I'm missing my pot of gold!
Now, some may say I'm whining or complaining or going for sympathy but I'm not - I just find that speaking honestly about things like this to be a relief and so much simpler then having to come up with some sort of reason why I haven't created anything lately! It is easier just to be honest and hope for some understanding... or help - if you happen to see a Leprechaun toting a cauldron, send him my way!
